In this weeks blog I will be outlining 5 reasons why changing to eco friendly cleaning products is great for you and everything around you!
For most people today, modern life doesn't give you a minute to yourself. This is why it when it comes to your household cleaning, it is easy to just grab any old cleaning product off the shelf in the supermarket when your in there. Usually the one thats on offer that week!
However it is worth with thinking about what you are buying. A lot of these cleaning products aren't good your health. I personally find that products from a few different brands have had me coughing, wheezing and sneezing my way through cleaning my house. This is likely due to the harsh chemicals that these products are made up of and why companies need to add warnings to their bottles outlining the dangers certain products can pose.
However, its not all bad as there are products on the market that do not contain any of the harsh chemicals that can cause negative effects on a persons health.
I will now give you 5 great reasons why you should be considering using green cleaning products in and around your home!
1) User Safety
Eco friendly cleaning products don't contain anything that would be harmful to the user or anyone that may come in contact with them.
If you where to inhale or perhaps get the product on your skin or in your eyes it could be simply washed out without any worry of lasting damage.
2) Safer Home Environment
As I have mentioned above, when using more harmful chemicals there are lots of hazardous vapours in the air which you will breath in causing respiratory issues or that will land on your skin producing possible rashes or burns.
This is not an issue with green cleaning products as they do not contain any toxins or harmful chemicals.
3) No overpowering odour
A lot of cleaning products I have come across for certain jobs around the house boast about there amazing cleaning power etc, but with this so called cleaning power comes a very powerful and often unpleasant odour. Bleach and bleach based cleaners are the perfect example, yes your house may look clean but is it at the cost of it smelling terrible?
Many green cleaners come either odourless or with a very mild odour. So you don't need to worry about having to mask bad smells in your house.
4) Helping Our Environment
An obvious but nevertheless noteworthy addition to this list is that eco friendly cleaning products help with saving the natural environment. Green cleaning products on the whole are 100% biodegradable and non toxic. They also contain ingredients that are usually naturally derived and safe for our environment. They are safe for our oceans and wildlife so you can rest assured that you're helping at least a small amount towards conservation.
With most conventional cleaning products this is most certainly not the case!
5) Cost
Now I'm not going to say to you that you will be able to pick up a green cleaning product for cheaper than other products on the market, as you and I both know that these days you can pick up cleaning products for buttons.
However, you will likely be surprised to hear that a lot of eco cleaning products are now a lot cheaper than you might think. This coupled with the added benefits of what has been mentioned in points 1-4 means that the cost of green cleaning may be worth looking into. You may also want to look at how much of each product you're actually getting for your money and how long it lasts when you've bought it, all things that you may not realise when doing your weekly shop.
